The concepts and practices of Yoga originated in India about several thousand years ago. Its founders were great Saints and Sages. Yoga is no longer restricted to saints, it has entered our everyday lives and has aroused a worldwide awakening and acceptance in the last few decades. Yoga have now been reoriented to suit modern sociological needs and lifestyles. New domains of yoga have come up in recent times like power yoga, artistic yoga and hot yoga to name a few styles.
Yoga is one of the greatest ways to keep yourself fit without any medication, it is more or less a different form of exercise. The practice of Yoga prevents psychosomatic disorders and improves an individual's resistance and ability to endure stressful situations. Yoga is a discipline to improve or develop one’s inherent power in a balanced manner. It offers the means to attain complete self-realization. The benefits of yoga are countless. Whatever you may be looking for – weight loss, diabetes, better time management, freedom from anger, effective communication, or creativity at work, yoga has the answer for everything. The practice of yoga has immense benefits for not just the body but also the mind so that you enjoy a perfect healthy state of being.
Yoga is universal in character for practice irrespective of culture, nationality, race, caste, creed, sex, age and physical condition. Without practice, no one can experience the utility of Yogic techniques nor can realize its inherent potential. Only regular practice (sadhana) creates a pattern in body and mind to uplift them. Yoga has different type of asans, depending upon your body type and your requirement. For eg: somebody wants to tone his body, the instructor might tell him to go for suryanamaskar and somebody with a different need will be asked to opt for some different asan.
